There are some things that you cannot hurry. That you should not try to hurry.
There have been times (and there still are!) where I have been frustrated with waiting; I’ve got a vision and a mission and I want it all yesterday! I’ve shaken my fist at the world and stamped my feet.
You must have things you feel that way about too I’m guessing.
But let’s think about waiting in a different way. Instead of getting annoyed or frustrated or even risk giving up hope or taking action, what can waiting do for us instead?
What will you find in the waiting period?
What will you find out about yourself?
What will you discover about the gift of patience?
In an insatiable world where we are being trained to be consumers, to have our needs met every time we demand and without hesitation, there is a lot to be said for waiting.
Waiting has become a lost virtue. Yes, you could see that waiting is a sacred space, where we get to hold strong, before the fulfillment of our desires of our purpose and calling.
Waiting can bring a feeling of stillness.
It can bring space; a gap between the action and the consequences.
A pause between the spark and the delivery of what you are creating.
Waiting is a time for maturation.
It gives us time to prepare for the gifts that are ahead for us.
And there’s no doubt that when we do receive what is ours, what we have been shown in our hearts, it will be all the sweeter for the wait.
