Fear, Entrepreneurship & The Crisis That Made Me Stronger

Fear, Entrepreneurship & The Crisis That Made Me Stronger

The road of entrepreneurship is a winding road with many hills and valleys, and it can bring out the best in you as you face your challenges and rise to meet them.

Along the journey you have to make a lot of deals with yourself;

That you won’t give up

That you won’t lose sight of your goals

That you will get up every day and take a step forward no matter how you are feeling.

And that you will FEAR NOTHING.

If there is one thing that will bring a half to your journey it’s fear.

My journey almost came to a halt 16 months ago.

I just woke up one day and was TIRED. And emotional. And not in a good way. My usual happiness had vanished and I was left with feelings of frustration – aren’t my goals EVER going to happen? Talk about a pity party. I’d lost the ability to look back to see how far I’d come from walking out of my 9-5 job and started to create my life on my terms.

I did nothing. I literally came to a halt. I stopped doing all the things that would actually take me closer to my goals. I didn’t want to give up but I had run out of HOWs. I didn’t know what to do to take my goals to the next level. It felt like I had exhausted every opportunity. I was completely stuck and with a mindset that wasn’t helping me.

This lasted for weeks and I worried that I wouldn’t get my mojo back ever, and then what would happen?!!

Then one day I woke up and decided enough was enough. If I was going to continue my entrepreneurial journey then NO-ONE was going to make it happen but me!

I may have exhausted my brain for the ‘HOWs’ and the inspiration, but I hadn’t exhausted EVERYONE ELSE’S brains, that’s for sure! So I start looking for mentors, and I started learning from people who had gone before me and were leading the way. I watched their videos, I read their books, I learnt and I studied. I up-levelled my education. My business knowledge rocketed. My mindset grew stronger. I soaked up every word of wisdom and every strategy I could and I APPLIED it to myself and my business.

This quote from Jim Rohn sums up that time in my life really well.

Don’t wish it was easier; wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems; wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges; wish for more wisdom.

Eventually what happens is when you want something bad enough, YOU FIND A WAY.

It was horrible at the time, but 16 months later am I glad I went through it? YES!

1. I know that I have an inner strength (maybe a mountain of determination) that is so ingrained in me that I can face my fears head on and not only survive, but THRIVE!

2. Through leading other entrepreneurs on their journeys I’m able to us that powerful moment in my life to help them. I know what it’s like to dream bigger than big!

We can NOT let fear stop us in our tracks!

Fear of failure

Fear of not making it

Fear of what other people think

Fear of taking the next step

Fear that you will never make it

Fear that you haven’t really got what it takes

Fear that you haven’t got the smarts

FEAR NOTHING.

When you FULLY commit to your journey, your mission, and the life you want to lead and you fear nothing, then nothing can stop you.
