Do you ever struggle with motivation in your business?
I recently got asked about how I stay so motivated by someone who was struggling with taking the action she needed to in her business.
You’ve got to know your why!
Why are you doing what you are doing?
What is your goal?
Does your goal get your heart racing when you think of it?
Does your goal making your want to grow or just stagnate?
Are you going to cruise to your goal or hit the high speed?
Are you doing what you love for a living?
Sure there are the nitty, gritty details of running a business that even I don’t get excited about, but when I know that each detail needs to be done in order for me to keep making progress towards my goals, then it gets done.
Where do you get your rewards?
Is it financially? Is it from a feeling? Is it from your lifestyle? The good feeling knowing that you have helped someone or solved a problem?
I’ve blogged before about some of the rewards I get from running my own business. What rewards and success do you get in your business?
You’ve got to have a big enough WHY.
That’s what will keep you motivated when you get tired, when you feel like giving up, when others doubt you, when you haven’t got the support you need, or you aren’t making progress fast enough.
It’s your WHY that’s going to help you get over failures and pick yourself up and get on with things. It’s your WHY that will make you take step after step even when you are weary and it feels like one step forward and two steps back.
It’s your why that will keep you going and heading towards your goals, no matter how much hard work it is to get there.
What are you willing to do to reach your goal?
What’s your plan?
You need a plan to get to your goal. You need to know what you are going to do.
When you have finished reading this, grab a pen and paper and map out your journey. When you have a visual of it, it really comes to life!
When you know where you are going, then get a plan in place that will take you there.
You’ve got to aim for something you REALLY want. It’s got to be big and all-consuming to keep you motivated.
Are your beliefs holding you back?
Is it negative self-talk? Lack of confidence? Lack of knowledge? Is your reason to succeed big enough to get over your motivation block?
Do the very best you can. Keep moving forward. Step-by-step.
Make sure your behaviour and your actions are lined-up with our ambitions.
That’s the secret to motivation.
